Amazon will be opening up two logistics centres in Italy in 2021, and it will be investing more than 230 million euros ($278 million), which is the biggest online retailer in the world.
One of the new hubs will be a distribution centre in the north-western city of Novara and the other one is a fulfilment centre located adjacent to the city Modena. The will mean that Amazon will be creating around 1,100 new jobs within the next three years.
In a statement, the group said that “Amazon continues to expand its logistics network in order to satisfy the growing demand of clients, widen product selections and support those small and medium enterprises that have decided to sell their products using Amazon logistics.”
In Italy, 5.8 billion euros have already been invested by the company, ever since it had started functioning 10 years back. In Italy, Amazon has staffed 8,500 people.
