It seems very likely that ByteDance might miss its deadline to sell the US operations of TikTok to a US bidder. The Trump administration had placed this order on the Chinese company and it had Microsoft and Oracle that were in line to take over but there are yet to be any solid deals made.
Based on the Chinese regulatory review, TikTok might need more time past the deadline date of September 15th to come into agreement with either of the companies involved.
ByteDance has not commented on this issue yet.
The Trump administration is citing TikTok as a national security risk and says that the company holds huge amounts of private data on its US customers.
ByteDance has also said that the Chinese government does not have any authority over TikTok content.
