Google has made some changes to Gmail, making it a lot easier for users to manage their chat messages. Users of Gmail web chat will now be able to change the size of the Google Chat and Rooms side widgets.
“You can now resize the Chat and Rooms sections in the left-side navigation of Gmail on the web. This makes it easier to stay on top of your most important conversations and navigate to relevant chats faster,” an update from Google Workspace said.
The feature will be pushed out within the next few days for users who use these packages: Google Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus, as well as G Suite Basic, Business, Education, Enterprise for Education, and Nonprofits.
This new feature will be in the Gmail navigation drawer when it is enlarged. To resize Chat, Rooms, or Meet, users will have to select the relevant section and drag it to the point where it is expanded to the users liking.
This will offer Gmail users with advanced customization, which will be pleasing for users that prefer a less crowded interface. This update also comes to a couple of months after Google has released its new “away” status for users that wish to stay remote for some time.
