Google is looking into an investment in Vodaphone Group Plc’s scrambling India business, sources close to the matter said.
The tech company is thinking about buying a stake of around 5% in Vodaphone Idea. They are still in the early stages of consideration, reports said.
Vodaphone said that it will not be commenting on market speculation, and Google has yet to comment on anything.
A month ago, Facebook said it would be investing $5.7 billion (Rs. 43,574 crores) for a 9.99% stake in, Jio, the Reliance Industries’ digital arm, which rivals Vodaphone Idea and Bharati Airtel in India’s competitive telecom market.
