Google plans on opening up its office buildings in some more cities at about 10% of their capacity starting on 6th July and boost it up 20% by September, if the rules allow them to do so.

Until March, Facebook had allowed their employees to work from home after government-mandated restrictions to stop the spread of COVID-19 pandemic had been enforced, Google said.

Google said that it will be providing all its employees with an allowance of $1,000 or the value that is equivalent to it in their country, to cover the costs of the vital gear and office furniture, as it is very likely that these employees will continue to work from home for the rest of the year.

Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai said, a small number of employees have roles that are required to work at the office and they will be coming back to the office on a limited, rotating basis.
