On Monday, Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O) had introduced a brand new service whose objective is to help big businesses put together large amounts of data that are stored in a corporate system.
Azure Synapse system will be revealed at a Florida event. This is a section of the fast-growing cloud computing unit of the company that operates the shares of the company for the past five years.
This service is meant to aid companies to build out systems that examine huge amounts of data to make better business choices.
The system’s aim is to help solve two problems for a company that builds those kinds of systems, The corporate vice president of Azure Data, Rohan Kumar said.
The first problem they help businesses with is the need for different software tools to analyse data that is in systems such as customer database – such as a traditional database where customers names and addresses are placed in a spreadsheet in order – compared to the current system which includes website monitoring tools, where everything you clicked is recorded through numbers and time stamps. The Synapse tool is made to be able to handle both these kinds of data.
Secondly, it can automatically handle tasks that are needed for building out a system to analyse data, and to help reduce the amount of work necessary for computer programmers. Microsft said customers that are currently testing out the system include Deutsche Bank (DBKGn.DE) and Unilever (ULVR.L)
Kumar also added, “What we’re seeing with our customers is these projects that would typically take multiple months are now getting completed within a day.”
