Chief Justice of India SA Bobde had led a Supreme Court bench today and has issued a notice relating to an application on the WhatsApp privacy matter.

The plea is looking to stay on the operation of the new privacy policy of WhatsApp.

Applicants asked for WhatsApp to be refused for the supposed lessening of privacy standards for Indians compared to users in Europe.

Shyam Divan, the Senior Counsel who had shown up for the applicants, said that the app had been modifying between Indians and Europeans in terms of privacy standards.

The company had spoken to the apex court and said that Europe had a specific law for privacy, and in India, the app will follow through with a similar one.
