The US Federal Trade Commission has started an extensive investigation into Nvidia’s agreement to takeover Arm Ltd.
Bloomberg reported that the FTC has sent information demands to third parties.
Nvidia has an agreement with SoftBank Group from Japan back in September, in order to buy Arm Holdings for around $40 billion.
Along with the FTC inquiry, Alphabet, Qualcomm and Microsoft have put out a complaint to the US antitrust regulators regarding the deal.
Arm Holdings offers the intellectual property to Apple, Qualcomm and many others for chips that power almost all the smartphones in the world.
Britain’s Competition and Markets Authority said at the start of this year that it will be looking into Nvidia’s deal to acquire Arm.
