WhatsApp, which is owned by Facebook, will be going forward with its controversial privacy policy update and will let users read it when they want and will also show a banner offering additional details.

Last month, WhatsApp gave notice to their users that it was getting ready for a new privacy policy, which would let it share limited users data with Facebook and its group companies.

This had brought on a lot of backlash and sent users towards the messaging platforms competing  apps, such as Telegram and Signal, which forced WhatsApp to put a pause on the release of the new policy to May and to give notice that the update aimed at letting users message amidst businesses and will not have an effect on personal conversations.

WhatsApp wrote in its newest blog post that it will start letting its users know that they need to review and accept updates in order to continue using the app.

“We’ve also included more information to try and address concerns we’re hearing,” the blog added.
